Rebutting Patriarchy Theory

Crazy Evil King

As per Wikipedia[i], Patriarchy (rule by fathers) is a social system in which the male is the primary authority figure central to social organization and the central roles of political leadership, moral authority, and control of property, and where fathers hold authority over women and children. It implies the institutions of male rule and privilege, and entails female subordination.

In the recent past most of the feminists talk about their movement as against patriarchy and not against men or demonizing men. Per the definition of patriarchy there are 2 important points to it –

1)      Female Subordination

2)      Creating a social system them deliberately subordinates them with pressure.

As per the feminists we are living in a patriarchal society which means you and I deliberately, with pressure subordinate women. Now these are not women of a different country or a different sect / religion but our own family members with whom we share an intimate bond like mothers, daughters, sisters and wives. Meaning, men are ready to hurt and subordinate with pressure, the very person they love and share a bond for their own gains. We can only think of a Sociopath or a Narcissist who does like this[ii].

The typical traits of a Sociopath[iii] / Narcissist are –

1)      Manipulative and Conning: They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible.

2)      Grandiose Sense of Self: Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”

3)      Pathological Lying: Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis.

4)      Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt: A deep-seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

5)      Shallow Emotions: When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive.

6)      Incapacity for Love

7)      Callousness/Lack of Empathy: Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others’ feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

So as per the feminists, we live in a society where women are oppressed by their male family members. Such a person who oppresses for gain their own family member comes clearly under the above definition of a Sociopath / Narcissist. So are men in patriarchal society sociopaths? If yes, then nothing positive can happen with the feminist movement as sociopath have ‘No Empathy’, ‘Lack Remorse’, ‘Unable to Love’ and are ‘Manipulative’. Such people cannot change as they donot believe anything is wrong with them or their conduct, or we could ‘not’ be living in a patriarchal but egalitarian society and all this fuss could be a feminist hokum.

I whole heartedly believe the second hypothesis that we are living in an egalitarian society, where women are ‘NOT’ oppressed and treated as second citizens. If we were in a patriarchal society, women would have been given all risky jobs like mining and guarding our frontiers. Let us take a deep look through history if really women were oppressed –

In all major wars it is the men who have lost their lives. Women were not sent to the frontiers. If we lived in a patriarchal society, the selfish men should have sent women to war, but they choose to go themselves, implying patriarchy is a feminist created issue.

How do you justify the higher lifespan of women, lower number of workplace deaths, lower number of crimes against them, lower number of suicides, and lower number of fatalities due to diseases? If we were in a patriarchal society a sociopath/ narcissist man should have thought about himself first as opposed to the women.

I fail to see patriarchy anywhere in the conduct of men or any sociopath/narcissist traits in them. It would be great if any feminist person could explain to me in simple words how are women of today discriminated against and oppressed as they make out to believe? In my opinion, the whole ideology of the feminist movement is to demonize men and to spread hatred towards them. If they are really working towards equal rights, start by making the laws gender neutral.

All the cry of ‘patriarchy’ in society is rubbish. Even if men appear to be in control, only because men are seen more in numbers in jobs, fields, forces, politics, etc., it’s far from being powerful. At the end of the day, they are controlled by the woman back home. So, who is actually powerful here? It’s simple logic which people in the mainstream media would never see..
