On a further analysis of the above table, we can see that men in the age group of 30-44 and 45-59 are 2.2x and 2.9x times more than women suicides in this age group. The reasons for majority of these suicides are family problems and other causes[iv] which account for nearly 60% of the suicides in the above age groups for men.
Another startling fact of gender specific suicides is that in the age group 0-14 years the male and female suicides are nearly equal but male suicides steadily increase as the youth enter gender specific roles which is evident in an increase in suicides for men from the age group 15 onwards. In the age group of 15-29 an increase of 28.3% male suicide are seen, this number jumps to a substantial 124.5% for the 30-44 age group and to 198.3% for the 45-59 age group[v]. This clearly signifies the hard time and misandry men have to go through all their lives. Even after retirement the increase in suicide is about 165% for men.
If we refer to the suicide victims by marital status[vi], over 71% of married men committed suicides, which fell to 3% for widowers, 0.8% for divorcees and 2.3% for separated men[vii]. A startling fact is that married men are 2 times more likely to commit suicides[viii] as compared to married women. This ratio falls drastically in case of divorcees, widowers and separated men.
So, are we living in a Man’s World where it is easy for men…. ? Do we require more gender specific Laws…?

Good analysis.
Feel u delete, “separated men” from the last line
“This ratio falls drastically in case of divorcees, widowers and separated men”.
Separated men are also vulnerable as he is already started fighting false cases, and is also under stress.
Thanks Anonymous,
Married men have various sources of stress. As compared to separated men they also undergo domestic violence (link) and passive aggressive behavior (link) at the hands of their spouse.
